How to protect and soften sensitive baby skin
I developed the baby ointment in 2007 when my daughter Ylva was born, when she was so sore and red all the time. I didn't want to use anything that was on the market, and so I developed this ointment that has delighted many toddlers and parents since 💕 It usually takes care of diaper rash and soreness overnight.
As I said, I wanted to create my own product for my baby, and not use what was on the market when I saw that famous brands use paraffin in baby oils and other baby skin products 😱 !! It is a mineral oil produced from crude oil that has undergone extensive chemical and physical treatment. The oil is distilled in refineries, and at different high temperatures, different products are obtained: propane, gasoline, heating oil, asphalt , etc. Various substances are made from this, such as plastics, solvents, emulsifiers, flavorings, textiles AND BABY PRODUCTS! 😰 Yes, you read that right!
I just had to write about this today, as one of my employees had been recommended a baby bath oil by the health center, which I checked the ingredients on 😖 Paraffinum liquidum (paraffin), trilaureth-4 phosphate (emulsifier). The commercial baby oil many people use or have used comes from the same source that fuels your car!
Mineral oil-based skin products (such as Vaseline, or baby oil with paraffin) are therefore recommended by healthcare professionals 🤨 because they are supposed to protect dry skin. The effects of applying paraffin oil and Vaseline to the skin are that they have protective properties on the skin, but the big problem is that it happens to such an extent that the skin completely closes. It creates a thin membrane on the surface of the skin, which blocks the pores, prevents sweat production and prevents the skin from producing its own fat.
Imagine having half your body permanently wrapped in plastic wrap: that's how regular use of skin care products containing mineral oils affects your skin. You also can't just wash mineral-based products off your skin that easily, because they clog pores in the same way that plastic particles do. You can compare the effect to trying to wash mineral-based oil paint off your hands with just soap and water: it doesn't work very well.

Plant oils such as organic thistle oil, coconut oil and jojoba oil are safe for children, full of vitamins and essential fatty acids and can easily replace purchased moisturizers.
