⚠️ I just have to scream a little here and there, about this extreme that is happening, and which so many of us around the world cannot stand. Ordinary people around the world are demonstrating in numbers never seen before, while so-called important state leaders are allowing barbarity and a horrific fall for our common humanism.

Because what we are witnessing in Gaza is the mass murder of children in slow motion, as Jason Lee, Save the Children's Country Director in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, said. And not just of children. But, an entire population, which has been occupied for 75 years. And it is unbearable, and we ordinary people can only contribute by sharing, donating, demonstrating and boycotting.

😖 And we have no chance whatsoever to imagine how horrific it is to actually be there, to experience this most extreme genocide in modern times. Malnourished babies starving to death in Gaza don't even have the energy to cry, according to UNICEF. The numbers are extreme, but behind every number there are people like you and me: about 45,000 killed and thousands under concrete, about 15,000 children killed, 25,000 children orphaned, 1.9 million displaced, 2.1 million starved. Ceasefire now! Stop the genocide!

I feel sadness and despair every day, laugh often and feel a responsibility to follow the heroic people who publish the extremely cruel reality directly from the ground via Instagram: journalists, ordinary people, health workers and broadcasting channels far from the Norwegian ones, which barely mention the most extreme child massacre of our time. Instagram has become the most important channel for getting information directly from people on the ground, and we are now witnessing that not only bombs kill, but also man-made starvation!

👉 So, in all our helplessness, I want my company to contribute more. I donated 100,000 in November to Save the Children and UNICEF for children in Gaza, and will now donate to the most important humanitarian aid organization in the Palestinian territories for 75 years: UNRWA .

A good friend, Kjersti Berg, historian and expert on Palestine, has been researching UNRWA for 20 years, and in 2023 she wrote the book: Palestine – facts on the ground . I highly recommend this book where you can gain insight into the extremely important work UNRWA has done for the Palestinian people for many decades at all levels by covering the most important needs ❤️‍🩹

Even though I am sad every day, I am also happy every day. I feel all the wonderful things I have around me: family, friends, employees, customers, clean air, silence, beautiful nature, and opportunities and freedom. It is possible to feel joy and great sadness at the same time. And I feel both every day. And I know that many, many of us do, all over the world! ❤️🖤🤍💚

I actually saw some kale in Naustdal this weekend, where I was giving a lecture about wild plants for food and drink and skin and hair! And I found the first nettle and lady's mantle of the year here at home next to a warm stone wall today 🌱 Soon all of nature will be blooming, and it's time to pick and care for it! Let loose!
Birch bath!
Birch is one of the best things I know! THAT scent, oh my goodness, it's my dope! Bring birch leaves inside and make yourself the most sensual bath of spring 🛁 Sweet and aromatic and a particularly delightful scent from young birch leaves, which at the same time cleanses the skin.

· 2 liters of water
· 1 liter of freshly picked birch leaves

👉 Boil water and prepare it like a strong tea, an infusion, where the birch leaves are steeped in the freshly boiled water 🍵 Then pour the infusion into the bath water, and feel free to add a handful of fresh birch leaves directly to the water as well 🍃 It will be absolutely delicious.

After such a spring bath, it's perfect to apply Body balm with wild herbs, quite magical actually! From head to toe with soft and supple herbal balm, wonderful! 🤩
 
Birch scrub
🍃 Take home some extra birch leaves and make this heavenly birch scrub too!

· about 1 -2 dl birch leaves
· approx. 1-2 dl ground oatmeal (possibly apricot kernel flour or rice flour)
· 1 dl organic raw cane sugar
· 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
· 1-2 teaspoons honey
· about 1 dl of oil so that the consistency is suitable. Almond oil, jojoba oil, rapeseed oil and sunflower oil are good oils for the face.

👉 Mix all the dry ingredients together with a hand mixer until it becomes a smooth and fine mass, then mix in honey and oil 🍯 Apply to the face and gently massage the skin with circular movements. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
 
Wild power mask
A strengthening face mask with the first green leaves that appear will make your skin spring-like: go out and pick dandelion leaves, nettles, lady's mantle and coltsfoot in early April 🍵 Make an herbal infusion first and then mix the strong tea with clay or, for example, oat flour or rice flour afterwards. Herbal infusion means putting the herbs in boiling water, removing from the heat, covering with a lid, and letting it steep for at least 15 minutes before using the strong tea in the mask.

Out and picking the first tender shoots and plants
· 2 dl water
· 3 lady's mantle leaves
· 3 dandelion leaves
· 3 cabbages
· 3 small nettles
· 5 tablespoons clay or rice flour for example
· half avocado

👉 Make an herbal infusion of water and herbs, then pour ½ dl of the herbal infusion into a bowl and cool slightly. Add clay and mashed avocado, and leave for about 15 minutes so the clay can swell. Stir. Apply the mask to dry and clean skin, and leave it on for about 20 minutes while you relax 💆‍♀️ Rinse with lukewarm water. The mixture will keep for a couple of weeks in the refrigerator.

After the facial scrub and mask, I recommend Sea Buckthorn and Nettle or Calendula Balm on the face and neck, or if it's just before bedtime, it can be nice and sleep-inducing to apply Chamomile Balm to the neck, chest and feet as well. Or wait with your feet until after the good foot bath below:
 
Green foot bath
🦶 Wild herbs in the foot bath cause new strength to spread throughout the body. This mixture makes the feet soft and nice.

· 2 liters of water
· 10 plantains
· 1 handful of fresh yarrow leaves
· 1 handful of fresh dandelion leaves
· 1 handful of kale
· 1 handful of fresh birch leaves
· 1 handful of spruce shoots
· or other wild plants that you find nearby: raspberry leaves, meadowsweet leaves, goat's rue leaves, etc.

Make an infusion: let the herbs steep in hot water for about 15 minutes. Pour the infusion into a tub, let the herbs soak in the foot bath. While you're sitting with your feet in the foot bath, I recommend scrubbing them well, damn it's so delicious 🥰
 
Foot scrub with coffee and cocoa
· 2 dl oat flour or rice flour
· 3 dl finely ground organic coffee
· 1 dl organic cocoa powder
· 1 tablespoon honey
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and massage your feet with it 👣 It increases circulation and the honey and oil also add moisture. The best part is that it feels absolutely wonderful! 🤩
Once you have massaged both legs, rinse them in the foot bath. Then dry and massage your feet well with Vossabia. Chamomile balm which is very nourishing on the feet, and soothing as mentioned 💚
