The yarrow plant for wound healing and skin health ❀❤️‍🩹
For thousands of years, yarrow has been used to heal wounds and stop bleeding 🩹 Having this plant in your home is like having an entire medicine cabinet to heal injuries.

Here are some ways it can be used:

👉 Yarrow on the skin: eczema, acne, wrinkles, sunburn and itchy insect bites. Inflammation, varicose veins, hemorrhoids. These are some of the uses this versatile and powerful plant can help with. A 2021 review of yarrow found that yarrow has potential for skin health due to several qualities, including being skin-soothing, anti-inflammatory, skin-rejuvenating, antimicrobial and antioxidant.

👉 Stop bleeding: Yarrow is a styptic herb, which means it helps stop bleeding. When chopped (dried or fresh) or simply mashed and applied to the area of bleeding, yarrow can stimulate the blood to clot, helping to stop bleeding 🩹 If you’re out and about, far from medical help, this is useful to know. Using yarrow to stop bleeding can be as simple as mashing the leaves and applying them to the area. It’s also known to stop nosebleeds. You can also use powdered yarrow to stop bleeding.

👉 Wound healing: Yarrow is an antimicrobial agent that can help keep wounds free from infection. This has been known for thousands of years, and the plant was called Soldier's Herb when it was used on Roman battlefields to prevent infection and stop bleeding wounds. Recent studies have further confirmed yarrow's gifts for wound healing. One study showed that oil infused with yarrow was effective in reducing inflammation on the skin.

👉 Sweat-inducing plant: Yarrow increases circulation to the skin and has a sweat-inducing effect 💦 This makes yarrow one of the most well-known plants for bringing down fever. If you drink yarrow tea or use a strong tea in your bath water when you start to get a fever, it will have a relaxing effect on the skin, open the pores, and thus reduce the fever. Sweating also helps to expel toxins from the body, and yarrow is also good for colds, flu, coughs and sore throats.

👉 And it doesn't stop there, because: Yarrow for digestion, yarrow for scalp and hair loss, yarrow for the uterus, yarrow for women's ailments, yarrow for oral health, yarrow for the urinary tract, yarrow for MS patients, there have even been some recent studies that show promising exciting results regarding yarrow for cancer patients 🤩👏

What can't this plant be used for! Yarrow is only completely raw! I recommend everyone to read more about yarrow, get to know the plant, pick and use! 😉

All production of the products is done by hand on the farm here, carefully and controlled. But there is also a lot of growing, picking and processing of the plants by hand here 👩‍🌾 We use our senses to choose the best plants, and only those with the highest quality make it into the basket 👁️‍🗨️🧺 Several employees here have experienced that the Queen Bee throws out plants from their baskets, if the quality is not high enough 😜

On the Hardangervidda plateau, we sometimes get visits from curious goats 🐐 who wonder what we're really up to 👀 Fortunately, neither goats nor cows eat much yarrow, as it is so bitter due to its high alkaloid content.
