Are mosquitoes, gnats and ticks bothering you and your pet? 🦟 Not us! 🍀

Yes, I LOVE Panterbalsam to keep away 🦟mosquitoes, gnats and ticks! 💚🍀💚
Thank you to an elderly lady in Sogn who, over 10 years ago, discovered that our dear Panterbalsam was brilliant at keeping away stinging, blood-sucking critters. Before that, I had only used Panther balm for headaches, muscle aches, aches, stuffy noses, and many other aches and pains. Because it has so many different uses, and is, to quote Jorunn, my good worker bee here: TOTALLY INDISPENSABLE! And MUST be available everywhere, especially at this time!

Totally agree with you, Jorunn! 😘

Jorunn, for example, has smeared her legs in the mow, from her groin, thighs and down her calves, she's not taking any chances 😂 and is even trying to get the fierce skunk to stay away from where she's been in the tall grass. And she claims it worked! 🙌

A little bit of Panther Balm applied here and there is usually enough to ward off stinging insects, and is therefore also great to have on the terrace at the cabin, on a camping trip 🏕 hammock trip or when you're watching your kids' soccer game (I was probably the only mother who didn't wave her arms wildly during the games on the field in the middle of the forest).

On the Hardangervidda plateau I have to apply a little more, because the mosquitoes there are absolutely crazy, intense and fly in swarms and collide with us all the time 🍀 Then it will be a bit on the lapels, the backpack 🎒 and the like too. Then it is possible to sit down and make coffee on the primus stove anyway.

It's the essential oils in Panterbalsam that the little critters don't like. Eucalyptus, rosemary and peppermint are strong herbs that make mosquitoes shade the path, or rather the body ;) There are quite a few essential oils that mosquitoes, gnats and ticks don't like, including lavender, lemongrass and thyme. So it's just a matter of testing whether the sunscreen with lavender can keep the annoying critters away too. Several people have reported it over the years. Same with the hair oils, with lemongrass and rosemary for example. But, in all these years, it's Panterbalsam that we get a lot of feedback about exactly this every summer! The indispensable panterbalsam!

Check out this super funny feedback from a guy who got rid of the insects from the windows in his conservatory with Panterbalsam! Incredibly inventive and creative guy! He smeared some on the frame and glass and put the jar in the frame, and voila, the insects disappeared! Zoom in on the pictures and see the difference! 🌟

Dog, cat and horse! 🐕🐈🐎 How to protect them from mosquitoes, fleas and ticks? 🦟

We have received SO much feedback from dog owners about good hiking experiences without ticks on their dogs after using Panterbalsam. Incredibly fun, and so good for both dog and owner! The first time I heard about this was from a guy in Hardanger who no longer got ticks on his dog on a forest walk after applying a little Panterbalsam to his collar/harness, but the other dogs without Panterbalsam still got ticks. Horses have also benefited from Panterbalsam, and it has also been reported to be effective for itching after bites and fleas, etc. on horses 🐎

The organic essential oils in Panther Balm (rosemary, eucalyptus, camphor and peppermint) are highly diluted in fantastic beeswax and high-quality organic sunflower oil. Dilution of essential oils is number 1 when using them on your pet.

Panther balm contains powerful essential oils, and there are several of them that help keep ticks away, and they are safe for dogs. However, it is important to think about and be careful with essential oils on pets, especially cats 🐈

It is important to do good research before using essential oils around and on your pets, but if used correctly, essential oils can be a good contributor to both health problems and as an insect repellent. It is also a good idea to lubricate collars and harnesses if you want to avoid skin contact.

Many people benefit from Panterbalsam on animals, but if you want to go all out and make your own insect spray for your dog, this recipe might be good 💚:

Mix these ingredients well in a clean and empty spray bottle:
1 dl organic jojoba oil
15 drops lemon eucalyptus essential oil
6 drops peppermint essential oil
6 drops cedarwood essential oil

Shake the bottle well before each use. Spray on your pet every 2-3 days and massage a little into the fur. For daily walks in areas with a lot of mosquitoes and ticks, spray daily.

For the sensitive cat 🐈 (or my 4 cats – yes, a real cat lady), I make a mixture of cedarwood and lavender (diluted in coconut and jojoba), which I use with a pipette to apply just a few drops to the fur on the top of the neck. I make sure it doesn't get where the cat washes with its tongue, even though these are completely safe essential oils for cats.

So with these tips for better outdoor living for both people and animals, I hope you enjoy summer days and evenings on both the terrace and in a hammock.
