Beehive atmosphere and flower bonanza at Vossabia 🐝 🌸

It's blooming and blooming everywhere! 🌼 The whole color scale is in use out in the meadows now! I just love the plant diversity here. Picking wild plants that willingly give us so much deliciousness is actually magical!

But, it takes time. And right now it's affecting others that I love – namely you! You who shop and support us. That's why I apologize that right now it may take a little longer before you get your package ❤️

We are in the middle of the most intense picking period of the whole year! 🔥 And then we sometimes have to let orders and packages wait a bit to get our gold from the meadows.

Even the smallest person has to contribute, we'll get everything in. 😅

But I guarantee: we are absolutely committed to giving you the best customer experience, from strong plants to effective high-quality products, packaged nicely and shipped to your home as quickly as we can 🥰

Here we are, struggling to get all the plants in!

👩🌾 From meadow to elixir in 24 hours

We pick mornings and afternoons, weekdays and weekends – and always in sunny and pleasant weather. The plants often go straight from meadow to stove and are made into shampoo and body soap, or processed into tinctures, scrubs and skin balms.

In this package offer you will receive nettle, horsetail, yarrow, red clover, St. John's wort and juniper from our farm!

Yes, it's almost like inside a beehive here, it's buzzing and there's work going on in every nook and cranny 😅 The only difference is that the Queen Bee doesn't go around laying eggs everywhere 😉 and she doesn't get fed, warmed and cuddled as much as inside a regular beehive either (maybe I should make some new rules here, hehe).

A queen bee is only out once in her life when she is to be mated by 15-20 bees in one day. Luckily I can wander in peace wherever I want and go out whenever I want, so maybe it's okay that not everything is the same as in a hive after all 🤣

🌾 Picking time = investment in autumn and winter

Cowslip, nettle, red clover, rose, yarrow, meadowsweet, St. John's wort... so much is ready for harvest now – and often at the same time, as if the flora wants to test how many arms we have 🤹♀️ 🦑

We are making good use of this window of time for plant picking to secure raw materials for autumn and winter! 🏃♀️🏃🏼♂️🏃 Otherwise, too many products will be sold out after Christmas, and we certainly don't want to risk that. So as soon as there is shelter and sun, this Queen Bee commands all the worker bees out into the meadows with baskets on her arms.

Plants are then dried in every room in every house on the farm, enormous amounts of tincture are made, and then we refine this green gold further into the healthiest thing you can apply to your skin! And THAT is exactly the main motivation always! 🥰

Otherwise, I saw the first yarrow of the year in bloom this weekend and I found lots of plantains!! It went straight into a lovely tea mixture! But, my goodness, how can you find time for everything now when the horsetail is in a hurry to come in 😂 And the nettle is ready for the next harvest after new shoots have now appeared at the top after the last picking round.

No, here we just need to call for more helpers I think, hahaha. And if you happen to pass by Bulken in Voss on a sunny day, feel free to come up and pick with us! ☀️ I think it's like going on a treasure hunt!

Do as Ylva does: taste and eat the plants and get new experiences for your palate! Red clover is sweet and tasty and perfect in salads or in ditch meatballs, and a must in tea and tinctures

Follow along Instagram, then I'll share lots of exciting things about plantain right away!

On a quick trip to Hardanger today I saw the first St. John's wort this year! I get so happy when I see the first specimens of the year!! I'm probably a bit weird, but it actually gives me a little shiver 😂 St. John's wort, red clover and yarrow are, by the way, central to the super popular and deadly good Body Balm with Wild Herbs . Other products like hair serum and facial scrub benefit from these very super plants!

Body balm with wild herbs is wonderfully softening and nourishing from head to toe, with wild herbs from the hills of Vossabia.

🌼 Beauty Oscar winners in bloom!

Bright pink roses are also in full swing now! And with red clover all ready at the edges, it's time for magic! You can find these two plant stars in the beloved Rose and Red Clover Scrub – a 2-in-1 favorite that acts as both a facial scrub and a face mask. And you – did you know that it won the Beauty Oscar 2025 as the best peeling product in Scandinavia? It's not without reason! If you haven't tried it yet, it's really time 😍

Here you have a perfect package for the face , with everything you need for facial care: Cleanser, day cream and night cream. 🌸

My sister Kine loves the award-winning scrub above all facial scrubs, and she has tried so many scrubs!

👩💻 Now I'm writing at full speed because I have to go out and plant more oppal plants that have been sitting in my plant cellar for too long. There have been upheavals in the yard where Uncle Hermann, an excavator and bricklaying expert, has made the yard even more beautiful and built a completely fantastic wall, and behind it I have a lot of new area to grow on between the production houses here! It's such a luxury!! So in late summer it will bloom incredibly beautifully and vegetables that employees can pick for lunch and much more I dream about.

It may look strange now, but just wait until August!

What really makes the days extra wild here at Vossabia at the moment is that we are immediately starting construction of a new production building! There is a lot to sort out with that and, I must admit 😅 Now the municipality has finally approved the building application (only three months behind schedule 🤪) so things will soon get going in earnest.

Next June, a fantastic new farm building for Vossabia will be ready on the site of the old barn that was built here in the 1880s. It was demolished in 2000, but now I am bringing the farm back to its historical appearance, only with a modern farm building where we can continue to make fantastic, efficient and still handmade products using many of the great ingredients from our rich meadows. We are keeping the farm alive – and making room for even more handmade Vossabia magic.

This is what it looked like here before, and where the large barn stood, the new modern farm building will be built!

💚 Thank you for your patience – and for supporting something bigger.

It's hectic now, but it's also BIG. Because this is not just about skincare. It's about ecology, diversity, the joy of nature - and passing something real on to you. When you apply our products, I hope you feel that there is more than ointment in the jar. It is knowledge, commitment, historical roots, and the power of wild plants that you rarely find in stores.

Thank you so much for waiting a little extra now. We'll pack and pick - and send out the best we know as soon as we can! 🙏
