Plant-based ingredients each have their own unique composition, and their color, scent, and consistency can change depending on climate, soil, harvest, and processing. When these natural ingredients interact in a product, small changes can occur over time – not as a flaw, but as an expression of life. And this is one of the most beautiful and fascinating things about natural cosmetics: that the product is related to nature – and reflects it in movement and nuance 🪻😍
Body balm with yarrow, St. John's wort and red clover from the garden, and organic chamomile oil that can vary from light green to dark green. Eye balms that have a lot of hemp oil can also vary somewhat in their green tone. Nowadays, hemp is a really dark green. Superpower from nature in a small jar!
🌱What is happening?
1 - Soil, weather and wind play a role 🌧️
Botanical oils, tinctures and extracts change slightly depending on where the plant has grown, what the weather has been like, and what time of year they have been harvested. A lavender plant from sunny southern France in July does not smell quite the same as one from rainy mountain slopes in September. The same applies to the color of thistle oil, which in the last couple of months has come to us in a batch with a much darker and deeper color – something that has given panther balms and lip balms a new hue. But the effect? It is just as amazing. And with the next shipment of organic thistle oil, there may be a slight color variation again 😉
2 - Organic ingredients live their own lives 🌿
When we choose ingredients that are not synthetically stabilized or “dressed up” with artificial additives, we get all the power of the plant – and all the variety. It’s something we’re proud of, even if it sometimes requires a little explanation.

3 - Smell that changed? Just now the lavender has danced in a new scent direction 🪻
The organic lavender oil we use now has a slightly different scent profile than before – a different tone, a different timbre. You may notice it in lavender lips, Calendula Balm , baby ointment and sunscreen . But it is still the same soothing, skin-friendly and beautiful lavender – just with its own unique character. A while ago we experienced the same thing with organic eucalyptus oil, and the brain, which perceives natural scents immediately, immediately noticed that here there was a change in the music. Because natural scents are music 🎼 And even though it was immediately experienced as unknown music in the lavender and eucalyptus, we quickly realized that these were also beautiful tones.

4 - Consistency – a question of temperature 🌞🥶
Our products live with you and your environment. When it's cold outside – yes, then, for example, Mjuke Hender becomes hard and a little tricky to get out of the jar. But just wait – when it meets the warmth of your hands, it melts softly and deliciously. Hair serum can also harden in cold cars (like in the Post Office cars on the way to your mailbox), but find its shape again in your bathroom. And vice versa – in the hot summer heat, lip balms and body balms become softer. So avoid leaving them in the sun – it extends their shelf life and keeps them at their best.

🌸 An important lesson from nature – the story of Tindved & Nesle
Our magical face balm Sea buckthorn and nettle is loved by many – nutrient-dense, rich in vitamins C and A, antioxidants and a full package of essential fatty acids (even omega 7!). It makes the skin glow, strengthens, tightens and balances 💁♀️ But – then there was a period when we started to get some annoying feedback: After a few weeks or months, small grains or lumps appeared in the ointment from several customers. The product left the production bench with a perfect consistency, not a hint of lumps, so we in the production team were very surprised 😨
We were of course genuinely sorry, because it doesn't feel good when a product isn't as soft and perfect as it should be – even if it's technically just as nutritious and effective. We took it seriously, and started a thorough research and investigation👩🔬
I evaluated ingredients and studied chemistry and pondered a lot. And after a lot of reading, testing, trial and error, I finally figured it out a few months ago! Some of the most amazing plant oils we use in this product have a very high content of iodine – a mineral that is absolutely wonderful for skin health, but is extremely heat sensitive. Then I realized: these iodine-rich ingredients had been added too early in the process, when the mixture was still a little warm – and that’s when the iodine reacted and formed little lumps over time. Eureka! 💡
The solution? I changed the order of the recipe and production. Now the iodine-rich plant oils come in at the very end – when the ointment has become cold and clear. The result? A silky smooth, lump-free ointment – that stays that way! 🤩
We would like to apologize to those of you who have experienced lumps – and thank you for your patience and trust. We are always learning – and are happy to share with you, so that you too can understand what is happening in your pot 💛
Did you know that studies on sea buckthorn show that it repairs sun damage! Perfect as an after sun! There's also sea buckthorn in the sunscreen, because I want to take good care of your skin when you're in the sun too!
