We are against Black Friday, and wish that from all sides this year our focus would be on Black, Red, White and Green Friday for Palestine! 🇵🇸 Every day is black for our fellow human beings there, so in our helplessness we see that we can at least do one small thing, namely donate instead of giving discounts on a day like this. ❤️

UNICEF head Catherine Russel told the UN Security Council on Wednesday that over 5,300 children have been killed in the Gaza Strip in 48 days, and that Gaza is now the most dangerous place in the world for children.

We cannot stand to sit and watch as over 11,000 bombs have been dropped on a tiny area densely populated by mostly children. Ylva, Olav, Jonatan and I have demonstrated several times, signed, donated privately to several organizations, but now we want to donate from today's sales in the online store! 25% to Save the Children and Unicef's extremely important work for children in Gaza. 💔🥺 68% of those killed in Gaza are children and women! Extreme amounts of children have lost EVERYTHING, and are also severely injured mentally, but also physically and must continue to live without parents, siblings, and probably without all their limbs.

This is a global crisis! 🌍 This concerns us all! This is humanity in free fall! Emergency workers have NEVER SEEN WORSE! And that a united world of states has not long ago demanded an immediate ceasefire is incomprehensible to us ordinary people who stand helplessly witnessing what is happening. 🙌 Fortunately, people are taking to the streets, demonstrating, sending letters, boycotting the occupying power and understanding what has historically happened over several generations.

My friend Noha in Cairo is of Palestinian origin. Historian colleagues have been researching Palestine, refugee camps and the occupation for 20 years. I am a Middle Eastern historian from the University of Bergen. This is close and personal, this concerns us all, human dignity is something that applies to everyone.

Vossabia is also fundamentally against Black Friday, Week and Month and probably soon Year! We are against the call for overconsumption and mass production of goods that statistics show quickly end up in landfills around the world. 
 
Vossabia is against Black Friday, Week and Month because it hurts small businesses. If anyone thinks that giving huge discounts to small, independent stores is economically sustainable, then the answer is probably a resounding NO ❌ I know many store owners are struggling with these days, with shopping chaos, hoarding and then and there no profit.

There are so many great ways to buy gifts for your loved ones that don't involve getting carried away by crazy price cuts. Buying used and vintage, donating to charities and good experiences for yourself and your loved ones, and I love that! ✨ So we choose charity today, for children who suffer, in the name of humanity and human dignity ❤️
