I just have to try to describe the scent that fills the pans and houses when we boil juniper, and that eventually reaches the bottles that are sent to people all over the country and that makes it so wildly popular. When the juniper boils, the scent fills the whole house with an aroma that is difficult to describe perfectly – but easy to love deeply – deeply like the one I inhale when I take the lid off the pan.
It's as if fresh mountain air, green needles, blue juniper berries and sun-warmed resin meet in the same breath . You feel the crisp, clear and invigorating scent – like a cool breath from the mountains, or like a sip of ice-cold water on a long hike.
At the same time, the juniper scent is earthy and woody , with a hint of spicy warmth that makes it both calming and invigorating at the same time. It gives you the feeling of standing in the middle of mossy tree stumps and fresh wind – it makes you breathe deeper, stand steadier and a smile is guaranteed to come out – and the deep good sigh.

From forest to soap – true craftsmanship with roots and history
The juniper bushes grow just a few hundred meters from our yard. We go there on foot – or on skis when the snow is deep – and cut off the lovely branches, which are then simmered for a long time in simmering water. After boiling, the juniper tea continues to brew overnight, filling the house with a wildly delicious scent. This is how it becomes the powerful juniper låg that forms the heart and base of Skogen på kroppen , our popular forest soap.
When I lift the lid of the pan and the fresh scent rises, I feel blissful. It smells like breathing in life itself – it's almost like I feel part of the forest and of endless history – and I know that we are keeping an old tradition alive.

📜 A little story from the farm
Great-grandfather Brynjulv used juniper for brewing beer here on the farm – as many did in the past (and now where traditions live on in full swing). The juniper gave both flavor, strength and purification to the brew.
For generations, juniper has been used here at our place – first for brewing beer, then for hair washing and skin care, and now I'm sending my son Emil on a beer brewing course – so the circle is complete! 💚
