Ready to give a lecture at the Reindeer Conference! 🤓 With raspberry-colored lips, I'm ready to take the stage! 💋
Innovation Norway Arctic called me a couple of months ago and wanted me to give an inspirational talk for reindeer meat producers, skilled family businesses and others who were attending the reindeer meat conference in beautiful Tromsø.
Vossabia has 21 years of experience as a small family business with great growth, and after I won the national Business Development Award in Agriculture for 2024, many people have been interested in hearing my story and how Vossabia operates and operates by using the resources around us 💚 And here I am sitting in Tromsø and writing, and thought I would share this great experience, new insights and meetings with very nice people and a very exciting industry 🙌

Reindeer meat and Vossabia – two different industries, but I would say the same heartbeat 💓
Reindeer farming is a value-based industry and food producer that manages nature on nature's terms. They bring culture, nature, sustainability, belonging and deeply rooted knowledge to everything they do. And there's no substitute for meat. Reindeer meat is a health bomb! It's even great for the skin! 💪

What a joy to meet these amazing producers that I feel so connected to. It's always fascinating to feel this sense of belonging - the feeling of being in a family with people who work in a completely different industry than yourself ♥️
Finnmark Rein, Røros Rein, Stensaas Reindeer Slaughterhouse, Vågå Tamrein, Skodi Tamrein… these are companies that contribute the healthiest, most sustainable meat possible in the world! And think about the animal welfare! 🏞️ The animals graze freely all year round, shepherds look after them and lead them to good pastures. They run freely and eat mushrooms, herbs, grass and roots, as well as the important reindeer lichen – nutrition that the human body cannot absorb, but which the reindeer transform into pure energy! ⚡️
It's not hard to see how this lifestyle makes reindeer a natural dietary supplement – and it tastes absolutely delicious. It's like I say about honey: It's GOURMET MEDICINE 👩🍳🩺 But it's not just the ingredients that get me so excited. I also love how many of these companies use the whole animal. Take Stensaas, for example - they now have a project where they grind up bone and use it in glaze on ceramic dishes and bowls! So now you get reindeer from wide to plate - literally 🥣 Both on top and inside! Such creativity and respect for the raw material is something to be proud of 🌾  I was lucky enough to receive some smoked meat from Stensaas as a gift after my talk, and it went down a treat! So tasty, so healthy, and a perfect little snack 😋 So now I've ordered more which will be in the mail soon!
Skodi Rein also has many good dried meat products that can be easily sent by mail 🚚📦 so I got to test out their online store now too, and both heart, tongue and meat snacks will be arriving in the mailbox soon!
It will be a perfect complement to what I call our skin diet – that is, Vossabia and nature on the skin. I told my aunt Emma a lot about reindeer when I met her after the conference, so now I hope she has opened her eyes to this amazing ingredient 🤩 And she should, she who studies right in the center of this heritage. And what a joy to meet our dear Emma who enjoys living and studying here in the Paris of the North.
