We have now replaced freezing temperatures and snow with spring-like Mediterranean weather and warming sun for a few days☀️🌻
We are replacing work and duties with relaxation and peace. And guess what, it did us good! So now we have lowered our shoulders, wandered around everything from forests and beaches to historic cities and beautiful villages. ✨We have gathered energy and strength and built ourselves up for all the wonderful, but hard work that immediately awaits us at home with sowing, sudden spring, production, herb gathering and cultivation.

For a real flower lover Vossabia North Cyprus is the perfect destination with its incredibly diverse flora, and when you add my background as a historian, this island, with its long, exciting and well-preserved history, comes across as a packed full of things to see and explore. In addition to botany and history, beautiful beaches, crystal clear sea with the cleanest water in the Mediterranean and few tourists make North Cyprus a very attractive destination for this family👍.
There are green mountain slopes, forest areas, coastal zones and roadsides interspersed with yellow, pink, purple, blue and white flowers everywhere. Wild fennel along the roads and in the meadows adorns with its feather-like green foliage, and especially many different yellow flower species add color to the landscape at this time of year🌼💛.
And as a 💚rosemary lover, it's wonderful to have fragrant hedges of rosemary, which are now even blooming with their delicate purple flowers. And guess how happy I was when I saw nettles pushing out of the wall of a medieval castle 😉 Soon the nettle picking season will start at home too!
But, the trip won't be as good if you don't have Vossabia in your suitcase!🐝🧳
Panterbalm to keep mosquitoes away at night, for example! A good example is that I woke up today without a single sting, while my husband has 7 swollen stings on his face. 🦟So I was napping and smeared my forehead, temple, neck, hands, and everything that sticks out of the duvet with a little bit of Panterbalm . It's nice for me, but disgusting for the mosquitoes, luckily. But, my husband is having good results against itching with Chamomile Balm and Panterbalm on his stings today, so that's a comfort.
I met a lady here who couldn't stand almost any sunscreen on the market, but Vossabia works so well and protects so well!❤️
These three are also what I call the complete summer package , and have many uses.
Otherwise, there are some other essential products that are always with you on a trip:
Calendula Balm for our little boy's chafing, dry hands, freshly shaved bikini line and not least as a day cream (varying during the day between it and Tindved and Nesle , which are the favorites at night), Eye Balm to counteract puffy eyes, deodorants (this time it's Skogdeo on me and Sensuell on Ylva), and not least Rosemary hair serum to protect hair from the sun, calm frizzy hair, provide nourishment and shine, and my husband uses it to get more hair growth in his thin locks (and yes! It works!). Shampoo and Skogssøpa for the body are a matter of course, and now that Body Balm is also available in a mini jar , that beautiful little thing is in the group, and it lubricates my calves every morning and evening. 💚Love it!
So, the toilet water is full of nourishing goodies , and everything is in use, and what would we do without it, I say 😊
While I've been writing my travelogue, it's actually started to thunder and lightning violently, and the welcome rain will now super speed up the flowering.🌦🌺 I think there are many farmers thanking the heavens today! So good for a little rain, and no problem for a bunch of Westerners! Out and exploring further, before we head home to snow and winter in a few days!
